Kinda like prison

So I am really starting to feel like I am under house arrest.... I honestly thought Jace would be back to school by now but he is still not doing well. He is okay as long as he is on his codeine and not eating or drinking... not a very fun way to live. I just haven't had the heart to send him back to school, looks like he will be out one more day and then will be back on Thursday. In the meantime we are pretty much contained to this house. At least on days he is feeling good we can go to the park for an hour... right now we can't even do that.

Today he felt good enough to get up off the couch for longer then 20 minutes so we did a fun craft.

Rylans monkey looked a little like it had a bad case of warts on it's face, lol.

Jaces plane turned out really good.

We have also been doing this same exact puzzle several times a day... I think I could do it with my eyes closed now.

He is def. starting to round the corner... nights seem to be the worst for him. I am usually up with him several times a night. There is not much I can do for him so I just hold him and let him cry... It breaks my heart. I will be happy when he is back to the old Jace. So of course... Ry is starting to get a runny nose.

A trip to McCall

It was so nice yesterday and I was really tired of being in this house so Julie, Rylan and I decided to head out on a day trip. We decided to make the loop around McCall... it has been a few years since I have been there and McCall holds alot of very special memories for me. My grandparents use to have a cabin there and every winter we spent time there skiing and doing all kinds of winter activities. When I go to McCall even though it has changed alot I still feel a sense of comfort and all those memories with my family come rushing back to me. McCall is also where I went for my honeymoon.

We had to stop in Donnelly on the way up cuz that is where my grandpa lived for many years and there was something I had been wanting to get a picture of and never had. This is the street that leads into the fire station and it was named after him.

After that we drove into McCall and I had to go in and see my grandparents old cabin.... it was just like I remembered it and so many happy memories came right back to me looking at it. I wish I was able to give my kids the same memories of this town that I have.

We then went and ate at my favorite place in McCall... Lardos! Honestly the food really isn't all that great but I grew up eating at Lardos. This place is also a place my parents use to hang out at all the time when they were dating... so it holds alot of special memories for me as well.

There wasn't a lot of time for us to do much so we went and looked at the 2 ice sculptures that were still standing and walked around downtown and went to the Candy store.... so yummy!

Then it was time to head home.... it was a beautiful sunset on the way back.

SPT ~ The first thing that attracted me to you was...

SPT ~ The first thing that attracted me to you was...
The first thing that attracted me to you was those wranglers and the whole country boy appearance. I was in 6th grade and I was new in Homedale...I felt very nervous and insecure. The first day I made a great friend (who has turned into a lifelong friend) Carrie. A few days after that was the first time I saw Josh... I told Carrie then and there WOW... someday I am gonna marry that guy! Although as it turned out Josh and I wouldn't start dating until the summer between our Sophmore and Junior year. One of Joshs best friends and I actually "dated" from 7th-9th grade so I wasn't "available" until after that. After 9th grade Josh and I met up a few times and hung out with friends on different occasions but for one reason or another we never became exclusive... it just never worked out. The summer of 95 he had been gone rodeoing all summer and I had been working... On September 16, 1995 he came in to the local burger joint where I worked and joked about meeting me after work. Well turns out it wasn't a joke... he was waiting for me and we spent the next 2 hours talking about what we had been doing the last 3 months. He asked me to come to Bruneau the next day and watch him ride at the local rodeo there. The rest is pretty much history. We were inseperable from that moment on. We got married in 1999 and there has never been any question in my mind from that night in September in 1995 whether or not he was the one for me. What is so strange about my attraction to Josh is I have always really been into the "bad boys". Maybe the fact that he rode bulls was "bad boy" enough for me.
I will find a pic of us in HS and put it on here.

The tonsils are out!

We left yesterday morning at 6 am to the surgery center to have those tonsils out. Jace was in pretty good spirits considering he knew what was going on and was quite nervous about it. We dropped Ry off with my dad and headed in.

His surgery was set to start at 8 am and at 8:45 the doctor came out and told us everything went great and he was in recovery. I had my camera with me but honestly seeing him in recovery coming out of the anesthesia was a bit heartbreaking and not a picture I wanted to remember so I took no pictures while he was in the center itself. They released us and we were home by 10:30... WOW! I couldn't believe how fast it all was. Here he is on the way home... after the morphine.

And this is pretty much all he has been doing since he got home. He is still in enough pain and on enough meds that he is pretty well wiped out all day. The Dr. told me that I have to keep him down for 10 days.... anyone who knows Jace knows that is a nearly impossible task. But we are just taking one day at a time.

MAD MAD MAD

That is the best title I could think of for what happened last week. Katey has been in heat and we are breeding her this year so we have been taking her to the stud dog for the last 2 weeks. I noticed on Thursday that she was having some "problems" and called my brother in law who is very educated in labs and the whole breeding process. I told him what was going on and he told me he had never heard of that so I jumped on the internet and the few things I found on it said get her to a vet NOW... it is a life or death situation. I called my vet here in town and they told me indeed it was a life or death situation and she needed to be seen immediately. I told them I would pack her up and bring her down there and there response was "Oh no we can't see her we are too busy, you can take her somewhere else." First off let me say I have spent thousands of dollars with this vet (yes... thousands, before we had kids my older dog was my kid and she had allergies and we spent ALOT of money with them getting her tested). So I let them know that I thought that was horrible that they just tell me that yes your dog may die but no we can't see her. I also told them I would not be back ever. I called another vet and they told me to come in. Turns out she just had something similar to a UTI and it wasn't a bacteria in her uterus which is what can kill them. She has turned out to be such a good dog... she was so hyper at first I was a little concerened about how she would be but she has settled down and is just a good dog.

Valentines Day.....

Josh and I officially celebrated V-Day last Saurday (the 7th) by going to my favorite restaraunt The Mona Lisa... it was completely booked for V-day and had been for months. We had a great time.... I love that place so much!!

We had planned on just staying home for V-day until my mom asked me if she could keep the boys that night. So.... we figured we should get out and do something. We went over to town and ate at Wingers... not my fav. place but that was pretty much all we could get into aside of McDonalds. We ate then went grocery shopping and to an Outdoorsman store. We really had such a good time just the two of us.

On another note... Jace goes in to have his tonsils and adnoids removed on Wed. He has been through surgery before for tubes in his ears but this is def. the most major surgery he has been through and I am really nervous. He will be out of school at least 3 days... maybe longer depending on how it goes. He has to go in to the dr. tomorrow to have some lab work done and honestly I am more worried about that then the surgery. I have never met anyone in my life who hates needles more then Jace. I have tried bribing to get it done so we shall see how it goes. I think that is one of the hardest things about being a parent... knowing that this will be better for him in the long run but knowing the pain he is going to be in right now and trying to explain to him why you are doing it. It is not fun and it makes me very sad but I know it will be much better for him in the future. The kid drives me crazy most days but I sure do love him!

Cupcake Heaven

Let me start by saying I LOVE cupcakes... I love cake but the concept of little cakes is genius... not to mention dangerous to my weight. So I only make cupcakes when I have to. Tomorrow is Jaces Valentines Party and I was asked to bring cupcakes.... so me and the boys set off to make 48 cupcakes. His class isn't quite that big but of course 1 box only makes 24 cupcakes and I needed 30. Which leaves 18 here and I have already discussed how dangerous that is.

I made and forsted the cupcakes and the boys put the little hearts on them. My boys LOVE to bake and cook so they really love when we get to do things like this.

Sick, Sick, Sick

It all started last Wednesday. I took Jace into the Dr. for fever and sore throat... turned out to be strep. On Saturday Ry was complaining of an earache... I took him in and double ear infection. On Sunday Josh started getting sick, on Monday I started getting sick. Also on Monday Jace came home from school crying of an earache... I took him in and they told me he had swimmers ear. Today I took him into an ENT to consult with him about getting Jaces tonsils out and BAM... he tells me he has a double ear infection.

I have used 1/2 can of Lysol in the past 2 days... anything and everything we touch is getting doused with Lysol. This is ridiculous! I have had enough of being sick!!!

Yesterday Rylan and I went to Disney Live! Rylan has loved Mickey Mouse for as long as I can remember. He was so excited to get to go. There wasn't a whole lot of people there (cuz it was outragiously expensive) so it was kindof nice.

Waiting in line to buy popcorn and lemonade

Waiting for the show to start
